Terriers have a character all of their own – their
way is not to mindlessly obey, but to
ask 'why', 'what', 'how' and insist we satisfy them before they will work with us. No
terrier can really be tamed, or they wouldn't be the terriers we know and love. However,
we can direct their instincts towards acceptable activities rather than try to do the
impossible and eliminate them. In this way we can gain success at training our terriers.
